        You'll notice my face all over the place because I am famous. My friend Evan has made all sorts of graphics using my profile and you can see them by clicking on this image.... . Yes folks, that is really ME in those pictures. I am the most beautiful bird on the premises, just ask me and I'll tell ya. Just look at me! Who else holds his head up and can fluff up as big and pretty. Thank you, I knew you'd agree.

        Well, let me give you a little history on my species. I am a Moluccan Cockatoo.

        The Moluccan Cockatoo
        (Cacatua moluccensis) 20-21 inches

        Originating from the South Moluccas and introduced to Ambon island.
        Extravagantly rich in plant, mammal, bird, reptile and insect life, the tropical rain-forests of southeastern Asia form one of the most complex ecosystems on earth. In this teeming habitat, rich commercial harvests have been reaped from trees, fruits and medicinal herbs originating in these forests. Tens of thousands of islands, large and small, surround Asia on three sides. Those to the southeast, including the Philippines and the 3,00 mile long Indonesian chain, are of the Oriental fauna as far east as Borneo and Celebes to Bali and Lombok where they merge with the birds of Australasia. These zoogeographic divisions are, however, by no means static and species are constantly exploring new areas or being carried by the wind from island to island. Typically the birds of Aru archipelago are almost entirely Australasian. Most of the larger islands have a prolific avifauna and it is on the South Moluccas and Ambon Island where we find the Moluccan Cockatoo feeding on the fruits, coconuts and berries that are to be found along the mountain slopes and coastal areas of the islands. Very similar to some of the Australian cockatoo's and the Moluccan with it's soft pink plumage and deep pink crest makes a stunning sight set against the more lush back drop of the islands.

        So, if you were in my feathers, wouldn't you feel the same way I do about myself? I THINK YOU WOULD! I am the KING around here, and I make all my subjects tow the line. If I didn't, who would? Mom and Dad spoil everyone too much to make them behave! But I kind of like having them around so I can be exactly who I am!
